We’re looking for a numbers-focused marketer, with a passion for performance and who is always looking for the next big thing in digital. We’re looking for someone who thrives on change to enhance the already impressive number of guests we send on holiday every year. This role will be based in our office in Virum, North Copenhagen, as we invest in growing our Performance Marketing team.

About Awaze

Our purpose is simple – to delight owners and guests. The business operates more than 25 consumer brands including, Novasol, Hoseasons and James Villa Holidays. More than 8 million people stayed in one of our properties in 2019.

The vacation rental market has been growing strongly over the last few years, with people desiring the space, flexibility and uniqueness provided. The current global pandemic has only served to strengthen that trend. Last year we saw unprecedented demand, so it’s a great time to join us.

The Role

We’re looking for a disruptive marketer, by which we mean we know we’re not perfect; we’re looking for someone who can bring their wealth of performance marketing knowledge and enthusiasm to our fantastic product base. This role has responsibility for performance marketing across, but not limited to, our, Hoseasons and Novasol brands. All in all, you’ll work with a team to cover 15 points of sale, so this is no small feat.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the European Director of Performance Marketing, you’ll be joining a marketing-focused team, where we’re constantly looking for new and innovative ideas. You’ll work with a large budget, as part of a sizeable team across multiple locations, so the ability to adapt your style and working with team members remotely is key.

You’ll support on our strategy on both a medium- and long-term basis for all things performance; you’ll be a key part of the team that manages the day to day performance and optimisation when it comes to paid search, online display, video and paid social campaigns, but you will also own a number of local relationships with platforms and partners, such as Google, Facebook and our digital agencies, so you’ll need to balance day to day implementation with relationship management.

As our Performance Marketing Specialist, you’ll help to champion a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, building a culture of innovation where your team are always on the lookout for the “next big thing” when it comes to media channels which will drive acquisition.

It goes without saying that the proof is in the numbers when it comes to our performance marketing, so you’ll report on performance and trends, and highlight opportunities and risks, with a view to mitigating any potential pitfalls and staying ahead of our competitors. We let data drive our decision making, so you’ll need to be comfortable breaking down channels and campaigns into what’s driving performance as well as building business cases and hypotheses to test and learn into new areas.

Key skills we need:

You’ll be joining a genuinely passionate team, with a real desire to be the best at what they do. It’s key that you’re enthusiastic, driven and excited to be part of a company that champions marketing. Things that would make you a success in this role include:

  • You’re not afraid to try new things, and you’re able to effectively influence other stakeholders; you’re an initiator of change and you’re super flexible in your approach
  • You’re passionate about travel and if you’ve worked in the sector before that would be a distinct advantage

Equally as important as all the technical “stuff”, we’re looking for someone who is hungry to learn, irrespective of their seniority. We don’t believe in standing still (we work in travel, after all), but instead think that everyone should be learning, all the time. Whether it’s a new technology, an industry event or a mentoring opportunity, we want someone who lives and breathes marketing.

If you’re excited by working in a fast-paced environment, are obsessed by all things customer and want to join us on our journey, we’d love to chat.

What we’ll give you

  • This is an opportunity for you to join us at a pivotal point in time as we continue to invest in our marketing
  • You’ll be joining a team of genuine, passionate people who have worked in world-class organisations and who are keen to transform us to the same standard
  • You’ll have the freedom to choose the best way of working to get the job done. We work cross-functionally, so you’ll be given opportunities to develop skills outside of your core skillset.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits; we’re all about holidays, so we practise what we preach and offer some great travel discounts. We offer flexible working hours and remote working, too.

What else do you need to know?

We want to make the application process as stress-free as possible, so typically we’ll have an informal chat with you on the phone, followed by a comprehensive interview over Teams, where you’ll have a chance to find out a bit more about the exciting things we’re doing (and maybe tell us what we’re doing wrong). We want to hear about your favourite (and least favourite) projects, what makes you tick and why. Then, we’d love to show you “our place” so would look to meet you for an informal session in our office in Virum, Copenhagen.

We believe in equal opportunities and aim to create a team that is representative of our society, knowing that embracing differences enhances the capabilities of our business and makes for a happy place to work.  We are proud to recognise and celebrate that we have a diverse culture where employees  are accepted for who they are, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or ability.
